Churches in Cultural Transition (CCT)

Asha*, recently arrived refugee from Africa brought to Australia by Philoi, speaks at his sponsoring church in Sydney about his experiences as a refugee for more than 30 years.

Providing critical support and protection to persecuted minorities during emergencies and crises.

When Christian refugees come to resettle and make their home in third countries, the culture is often vastly different to their own. Church culture is not exempt from this difference.

We recognise that integration can be challenging both for refugees joining local churches and for churches striving to be adequately equipped to welcome and support them.

Philoi plan to increase the capacity of CCT for Christian refugees and their resettlement in safer countries. We partner with organisations who assist with resettlement in Brazil, Canada, and New Zealand. We also continue to connect with churches across Australia, working on furthering training modules to prepare the communities to receive refugees with cultural awareness and sensitivity.
