‘Love That Car Holden HK Monaro’ – SOLD

AUD$500.00

In 1968 I drooled over this car. I so wanted to drive Holden’s first sports car. I checked it out in Bourke at Holden’s show room. Being a first year out teacher in the Back of Bourke there was no way I could afford to own one of these movers. Fifty six years later I painted one!

Size 29.5 X 41.8 X 0.3 cm
300 gsm paper

Suggested price of $500.00 as a donation to the work of PHILOI to meet the needs of displaced families.

A4 photo prints available at $100, even if the original painting is sold.
If you would like a painting of a car, prints are available for similar prices.

About the Painter
Colin Hadfield

I came from a background in Teaching and Learning, having spent many years in various sectors within the Department of Education. My interest in Art and Painting started in Teachers’ College during Mr Dixon and other lecturers’ classes in Art and Craft as well as my membership in the Art Club at BTC which is now Charles Sturt University.

More recently, for nine years I have been studying landscape, seascape and portrait painting through online courses such as the Learn to Paint Academy and Realistic Acrylic Portraits School. Being a musician and violin maker, I broadly view painting as an integral part of the Creative Arts. While we are all made in God’s image, and Jesus is the Creator of all things, it stands to reason that He has created all of us to be creators (writers, poets, preachers, designers, leaders, artists, sculptors and so on). Hence, it is through Christ’s redemption and sanctification, that the Creative Arts exist for His purpose and glory, when we allow Him to take control of our lives.

James Banks (2024,  13/11) in Our Daily Bread, reminds his readers that, “Those who are kind benefit themselves” (Proverbs 11:17). The Epistles teach us to consider others’ needs and do what we can to help and encourage them, especially those families who are displaced because of their faith, and who consequently have nothing.

Kindness and generosity are part of God’s character, and He loves to see these traits expressed in our own hearts and lives. Solomon summed up the matter well: “Whoever refreshes others will be refreshed” (v. 25).
